These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of Tacofe, including our website, educational content, assessments, checklists, software tools, account features, and related services.

By using Tacofe, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use Tacofe.

1. What Tacofe is

Tacofe provides educational information and software-assisted compliance visibility for U.S. citizens living abroad. Tacofe may help users understand topics such as IRS filing, foreign income, foreign accounts, FBAR/FATCA, foreign tax considerations, cross-border finance, and related compliance concepts.

Tacofe is intended to help users organize questions, understand general concepts, and identify topics that may be worth discussing with a qualified cross-border tax professional.

You may need an account to access some features. We may use third-party authentication providers such as Google and infrastructure providers such as Supabase.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

We may suspend or terminate access if we believe you violated these Terms, created risk for Tacofe or others, or used the service unlawfully or abusively.

Tacofe may, now or in the future, help users identify or connect with CPAs, enrolled agents, tax lawyers, accountants, or other professionals.

Any professional engagement is between you and that professional. Tacofe is not responsible for professional advice, filings, opinions, representations, or services provided by third parties.

You are responsible for reviewing and agreeing to any engagement letter, fee arrangement, privacy policy, and professional terms provided by the professional you choose.

Tacofe may link to third-party websites, tools, resources, or services. We are not responsible for third-party content, accuracy, availability, privacy practices, or terms.

9. Fees and paid features

Tacofe may offer free and paid features. If paid features are introduced, pricing, billing terms, refund terms, and subscription details will be disclosed at the time of purchase.

Unless otherwise stated, fees are non-refundable except where required by law.

Tacofe, including its website, content, software, designs, workflows, text, graphics, branding, and other materials, is owned by Tacofe or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.

You may use Tacofe for your personal or internal business purposes, subject to these Terms. You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, sell, sublicense, or create derivative works from Tacofe without permission, except as allowed by law.

If you submit information, feedback, suggestions, or other content to Tacofe, you retain ownership of your content, but you grant Tacofe a license to use it as needed to provide, operate, secure, improve, and support the service.

We do not guarantee that Tacofe will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, current, or suitable for your needs.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Tacofe and its owners, operators, employees, contractors, agents, affiliates, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special, exemplary, punitive, or lost-profit damages, or for losses arising from tax, legal, financial, investment, compliance, or filing decisions made by you or a third party.
